About Us
Last updated:
Sateek Bharat (sateekbharat.in) is an independent Hindi-language digital news publication, made first for readers on their phones. We report on India and the world, cricket and other sports, entertainment, business, science, technology and lifestyle, along with analysis and opinion.
Our mission
Our name is our promise: sateek means "accurate". Accuracy is the first condition of trustworthy journalism, so we care more about getting a story right than about getting it first. Every story is checked against facts and sources before it is published, and when we make a mistake, we correct it openly.
- Accuracy: no claim becomes news until it has been verified.
- Fairness: everyone involved in a story gets a chance to give their side.
- Independence: advertisers and outside pressure do not influence our editorial decisions.
- Accountability: readers have an open, time-bound way to raise complaints and ask for corrections.
What sets us apart
Checked before it is published
A fact goes into a story only after it has been checked against original documents, official sources or more than one independent source. Rumours and unverified viral posts are not published as news.
Mistakes corrected in the open
When we get something wrong, we correct it on the story itself and say what was changed and when. A story that has been updated shows the time of its last update.
News kept apart from opinion and ads
Analysis, opinion and sponsored pieces carry a clear label above the headline, so you always know what you are reading.
Your privacy respected
You don't need an account to read our stories. Our pages set no advertising or tracking cookies, and we use no outside advertising or analytics company.
AI used responsibly
AI tools may help with research, translation and drafting, but an AI tool is never treated as a source of facts. An editor reviews every such story, and AI-generated images are always labelled.
Accountable to readers
Every complaint is acknowledged within 24 hours and decided within set timelines, and we publish a compliance report every month. Readers' comments, where open, follow published rules.
Our newsroom
Sateek Bharat is run by a small editorial team based in India. The Editor-in-Chief has final responsibility for everything we publish, and also serves as our Grievance Officer under the IT Rules, 2021. Our corrections desk examines every request for a correction or a reply.
Every story carries a byline: the writer's name, or "Sateek Bharat Desk" (सटीक Bharat डेस्क) for reports prepared by the desk.
Ownership and independence
Sateek Bharat is an independent publication, owned and run by its founder. Any significant change in its ownership, management or funding will be announced on this page.
Advertising and sponsored content are kept separate from our journalism and are clearly labelled. See our Advertising Policy.
Our standards
We follow the Code of Ethics for publishers of news and current affairs set out in the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, which includes the Norms of Journalistic Conduct of the Press Council of India. How we work is explained in full on these pages:
- Editorial Policy and Code of Ethics
- Corrections and Right of Reply Policy
- Grievance Redressal and the Monthly Compliance Report
- Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Disclaimer
